My Journey and Purpose

My passion is that people, especially women, would be personally transformed by God's love and His desire that we reflect Jesus Christ.

My single mother modeled authenticity as a Christ follower and made me want a vital relationship with Christ for myself. I completed a MA in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling from Trinity Divinity School and I continue to learn from fabulous teachers. In spite of those wonderful blessings, my spiritual formation has been a long journey, or, as Eugene Peterson says, "A Long Obedience in the Same Direction."

I am trusting Jesus Christ to do what He came to do--forgive and make me new--so I participate in His great transformation. I work out my salvation with fear and trembling, because God is at work in me: an excitingly fearful proposition! (See Philippians 2:12-13.)

As God's Holy Spirit continues to transform me through the scriptures, spiritual disciplines, and accountability to other Christ followers, I discover new freedoms that had been out of reach. "So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free" (John 8:36, NLT).

Here is encouragement to pursue this amazing transformation.

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NIV).

So I turn. Often. And in my times of experiencing God, veils of condemnation from falling short or trying to earn God's love are taken away. Each time I experience a breakthrough, the Spirit of God comes and gently removes a blinder so I can see and reflect more of God's glory.

That grace keeps changing me! I am proof that Jesus is alive!
